David Rockefeller & A Dark Legacy In Brasil – A Critical Obituary

On March 20, David Rockefeller died at the age of 101. As the obituaries for one of the world’s richest men gush over his philanthropy, it needs to be pointed out that he was a major player in several Latin American coups, supported extremely corrupt military dictatorships, post-dictatorship neoliberal policies that greatly exacerbated income stratification and poverty and that his dark legacy will continue to influence the region long after his death.

Two Decades To An American Culture Of Death

And how they hope to secure their legacy . . . Featuring the collaboration of: the Hastings Center, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), George Soros’s Project on Death in America (PDIA), Institute of Medicine (IOM), AARP, Choice in Dying, and a number of prestigious universities, to name only a few.

Trump Seeks U.S. Military Spending Boost, Domestic Cuts

President Donald Trump is seeking what he called a “historic” increase in defense spending, but ran into immediate opposition from Republicans in Congress who must approve his plan and said it was not enough to meet the military’s needs. The proposed rise in the Pentagon budget to $603 billion comes as the United States has wound down major wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and remains the world’s strongest military power.

The CIA vs. The Presidency: This Is Not The First Time

Its entire personality will be based on deception, but it will remain loyal to the president. No problem. Sure.

The Council for National Policy (CNP) describes their organization as one that “brings together the country’s most influential conservative leaders in business, government, politics, religion, and academia to hear and learn from policy experts … to cultivate ideas to help solve America’s growing problems.” One of the main goals of the CNP is to counter the liberal agendas of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) by being the Conservative equivalent.

The Fix-Nothing Farce Of Symbolic Politics

Solutions gut the rackets by breaking down the status quo’s regulatory walls protecting the privileged elites who are stripmining the bottom 95%. Much of what passes for politics these days is symbolic. Anyone who studies the issue of illegal immigration concludes that the solution lies not in building $10 billion walls but in changing the incentive structure of citizenship, legal and illegal immigration. As long as successfully crossing the border enables access to free healthcare, education and sanctuary and the potential for cash work–the equivalent of winning the lottery for those with none of these benefits–walls will be tunneled under, overflown or bypassed by sea.
